The BAPC Register of Anonymous Airframes was started in the 1980's as a way of flagging up aircraft which had not managed to be given a formal method of identification for one reason or another. Examples include "pioneer" aircraft built before registration systems came into force, unfinished projects, deliberate omissions, reproductions (replicas), models, and types not included on formal registers such as Hang Gliders and Man Powered Aircraft.
The FSM (Full Scale Model) is usually built using modern materials to create a facsimile rather than the more accurate reproduction or replica.
